British Embassy in Seoul and Republic of Korea's biggest newspaper launch G20 London Summit online debate site
The British Embassy in the Republic of Korea and Republic of Korea's biggest newspaper Chosun Ilbo have jointly launched a G20 London Summit online debate site.
g20.chosun.com, whose English version recently went live, will carry a range of discussions in the countdown to the London Summit scheduled on 2 April.
Economic leaders from the Republic of Korea and overseas will place articles on the key agendas on the debate site.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Foreign Secretary David Milliband, Business Secretary Peter Mandelson, US Ambassador to Republic of Korea Kathleen Stephens, British Ambassador Martin Uden as well as EU Ambassador Brian McDonald will place comments in the site.
A number of Korean experts including Prime Minister Han Seung-soo, Chairman of Foreign Affairs, Trade & Unification committee Rep Park Jin, Green Growth Committee Chairman Kim Hyung-kook, and Kukmin Bank President Kang Jeong-won are also participating.
The online debate site invites Korean netizens to express their opinions. The site will also provide corners for Koreans to send messages to G20 leaders, quiz events and related news.
UK Foreign Secretary David Milliband has complimented Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan during a telephone conversation this join venture between Korea's biggest newspaper Chosun Ilbo and British Embassy in Seoul.
